Trick the Roach first before he tricks you.

The Roach was second fish i caught and it definitely grabbed my attention.
The Roaches have tricky behavior - they are gaming fish and like to play with bait.
Everytime they played with bait i thought it was just wind
and waves.
But later when float stopped trembling i pulled it out of water and discovered that my bait wasn't on hook anymore.

It didn't take me long to realize that the bait was actually stolen.
The Roach pushes and teases your bait so it can no longer be attached tightly to your hook and when you pull it out of water the bait slides away from it.

So if you catch Roach for the first time,it is important to:
  1. Retain calmness.
  2. Wait for right timing to pull (approximately 3-4 seconds).
  3. Do not apply force.Pull not too fast.
The Roach's favorite snack is dough and pastry.
But when they are hungry they will eat worms also.

Kinds of fish i encountered and their behavior.

Through my fishing experience i caught various types of fish and each behaved differently.
My first fish was common Ruffe which inhabits Harku lake.
Nothing special about their behavior to say, except they are always hungry and ready to tick the bait.I remember once caught Ruffe on empty bait.

This was surprising for sure.It seems to me these guys don't think when they are hungry.Their favorite bait is worm.
In Harku everytime you catch something,it is likely will be Ruffe because a lot of them are there.

Among other fish i encountered in Harku was Bass and Carp.
Unfortunately i didn't catch any of them because often they tore my line apart and got away with the rest of it.
I guess reason to this was my line's bad quality and lack of experience because i remember my friend pulling them in numbers.

Definitely i could use book that could teach me how to catch them.
It was very rare occasion when two of them would tick my bait.
But i noticed when it's raining it seems best time to catch them.

Here you can find more information about Carp fishing.

Fishing is more than just hobby...

Location of EstoniaI was born in Tallinn - Estonia's capital city.
A very clean and fine place to live.

Most of the time i spent with my friends in courtyard playing and running as usual little kids.
One day i was taken by my friend to fishing.Yet i didn't have any idea what is fishing all about, because it was my first time fishing.
Luckily for me because my grandfather was fishing in his years,we had many different fishing rods at home so there wasn't need in buying any.Of cource they were common fishing rods and i saw better ones, which looked more like proffessional to me.

The Harku LakeMe and my friend gone fishing to Harku lake and it took us usually about 20 minutes by walking. It's clear that my first day wasn't big progress and while i couldn't deny that appropriate fishing-guide book could be of use,i still really enjoyed fishing. Most importantly i felt really relaxing and calm.I was inhaling fresh air, listening to splashes of waves and admiring the view of Harku. This is more than just fishing...
I spend whole day fishing and didn't even notice how time flied.
That same day i felt some attractivity to fishing and later it became my second hobby.

Recapping all this,i consider fishing not only a hobby but very exciting and relaxing deed.
When you tired of life and feel down, find time, put your business aside and go fishing.
You will likely feel better.
